At short 3.9°C, Srinagar records season's coldest night up until this point


Gulmarg resort in north Kashmir's Baramulla region recorded a low of short 8.6 degrees Celsius, down from less 5.6 degrees Celsius prior evening.


Srinagar, Dec 15: Most places in Kashmir, including Srinagar city, recorded the coldest evening of this colder time of year as the virus wave conditions in the valley increased, authorities said on Wednesday.


Srinagar recorded a low of short 3.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday night, somewhere around 1.3 degrees from the earlier night's less 2.6 degrees Celsius.


It was the coldest recorded temperature in the mid year capital of Jammu and Kashmir this colder time of year. The city had last week recorded short 3.6 degrees Celsius.


Gulmarg resort in north Kashmir's Baramulla region recorded a low of short 8.6 degrees Celsius, down from less 5.6 degrees Celsius prior evening.


The hotel was the coldest recorded spot in the valley.


The specialists said Pahalgam, which fills in as base camp for the yearly Amarnath yatra, recorded  low of short 6.4 degrees Celsius. The south Kashmir resort had recorded less 2.8 degrees Celsius in the previous evening.


Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a low of short 3.8 degrees Celsius.


Qazigund, the entrance town to the valley, recorded short 4.2 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag recorded a low of less 3.9 degrees Celsius.


The climate office has gauge colder evenings towards the end of the week with probability of solid Western Unsettling influence influencing the district around Christmas.
